With Jay Feaster(Tampa GM) saying he may have to shake things up and saying that maybe not even the big 4(I include Boyle) are safe, you can officially begin the hopeful, and at times desperate and ridiculous, Vinny Lecavalier to Montreal trade rumors. It’s every Habs fans dream to see this guy play for the Habs, and believe me I’d love to have it happen sooner rather then later, but I don’t see it happening till the summer of ’09 when he becomes a UFA and might want to leave TBay with that organization currently going through ownership problems and with no top prospects to speak of(especially in net where they really suck). Then the Habs will have a shot. Until then, a trade for Vinny would mean Price and Higgins guaranteed going the other way and there is no way Price will ever get traded, not even for Vinny.
The World Junior Championship in Leksand Sweden is about a month away so i believe its time to start looking at what Canada’s roster will look like
Fans to blame for the Maple Leafs free fall?
Many Leaf fans, as many do when in their shoes; have blamed Maple Leafs General Manager, John Ferguson Jr. for the awful play from the members of the blue & white. Some have even extended an extra finger at Paul Maurice, Richard Peddie and part owner, Larry Tanenbaum. So much finger pointing has been going on lately it’s hard to remember who we’re blaming for what and why. But thus is the life of a Maple Leaf fan. Leaf fans are the only fans in pro sports who each think that they are the actual GM, and in some ways, they’re right.
This might be a bit delayed but it has been bugging me for a while now. This wont be that long of a text but i just need to get this out there, and see other peoples input about this as well. Now there’s no doubt that Toronto has faced a majority of backup goaltenders during the duration of the season thus far, but with everyone saying that Toronto is made up of “2 career backup goaltenders” wouldn’t that mean that the teams that have faced us thus far have faced backup goalies as well?
The habs have alot of goaltending and need a sniper or power forward. With the emergence of Carey Price, would he be ready to be #1 with a veteran behind him?
