i’m sorry… but Lemieux is the top-line center… if you’re telling me the pens are throwing out Crosby’s line over Lemieux and Palffy when they NEED a goal late in the game you’re not going to be able to say that with a straight face.

100 points for Super Mario might be a stretch, but I sure am excited to watch this line, this year. I’m intrigued to see how Malone will respond on this line.

So long as Lemieux’s back holds up, there is no better player than him to centre that line. He will not be a Perrault who wins almost every face off, but enough to get the advantage. I sometimes think that he loses some face offs just to keep the opposing centre guessing. But he almost always wins the face off when he needs to. Also, Malone can do the duty at time when Lemieux is not 100%.
