i honestly dont want perreault, was just stating that everyone says hes a badass faceoff guy who cant play d, winning faceoffs should be included in the whole ‘D’ category. crosby and malkin will be pretty good on the draws if only because they push themselves to be.

this is the same tsn that stated jason williams career potential is a 4th liner. dont know about u but i would take 60 pts from a 4th liner any day of the week…

I would like that choice better. Even Hrdina over Perreault because of his age.

Still gotta give it to the old guy though, every year he is in the tops on faceoffs.

I agree that having the puck makes up for having to defend, and clearly that is the intent of having a good faceoff man. But winning the faceoff does not happen 100% of the time and let's be honest, Perreault is outright awful on defense.

Besides, the whole defense thing is a typo and Molinari said in an article today (Jul 5) that it is a lukewarm interest from Shero. The Molinari article sounded more like the agent trying to sell Perreault off to an unwilling Shero than anything.

I know Perreault is the best on faceoffs, but even having someone not as good would be an improvement for the Pens who were terrible on faceoffs. I would even go for Jan Hrdina or Greg Johnson, who are younger and probably in the same price range, even if not as good on faceoffs.

He might have to (packaged with something else), to get someone who puts the puck in the goal regularly to play with Sydney.

by your logic, Mario Lemieux, who is widely considered as a "cherry picker," or someone who did not play defense very often, was also a great defensive player because he kept the puck away from teh other team while he was on offense.

I believe the arguement against Perrault is in his own zone his slower-paced skating and lack of size lead to the perception he's a defensive liability.

TSN's scouting report echo this:

so being a badass in the faceoff circle doesnt count as 'defensive ability'??? was under the impression that if the other team doesnt have possession of the puck, its alot harder to score, even vs the pens D. if you win that many draws, your keeping the puck away from the other team, hence the 'defensive abilities'. i dont care if hes a penguin or not, what i just stated is fact. i love the people that jump all over others cuz they think they know more, THINK they know more, doesnt necessarily mean they do...

as for them getting samsonov, dont count on it. theres a much better chance of them bringing back morozov then there is of them signing a player like sergei 'ceramic' samsonov. this offseason is weak in terms of offense, shoulda blown their load on Dmen.

Once again, where does Molinari say this? I can't find anything in print from his newspaper (The Post-Gazette found at www.post-gazette.com). IN fact, the last time Perrault was mentioned by Molinari in the Post was Feb. 2005.

Do you have his home phone number? Do you go to church with him?
