Yes he does play well at times but he always manages to let that horrible goal in, once a game...its like clockwork! There's a reason he is let to dry.

Playing in front of a goalie like that who isnt concentrating can deflate any team.

I wish we traded him.. We clearly missed the playoffs and it woulda been nice to have an extra 2nd rounder.

I know Carlyle says he is playing Gus, because he was told he was playing the better hockey of the two and that he is playing the guy giving them the best chance to win. That being said, the team generally takes more chances with Reimer in net, so is it a fair assesment? Is he going to give Reimer a chance to take the ball and roll, like he has Gus? I say this because no matter how well Gus or Reimer plays, I just don't think they should be our tandem next season. I know it has been pointed out there are not a ton of options, but I truely feel we need a vet to go forward.

I wonder if Burke acquired Ashton knowing that he was going to hire Carlyle. Carlyle already mentioned his close connection with the family and says a lot of great things about him. Maybe it was Carlyle's decision to bring up Ashton of all marlies players.

I listen to brady and Lang some mornings and it pisses me off when brady says "Burke cannot make any trades this off-season with the contracts he has, he just can't". Like shut up man. Burke has to make some major changes this off-season cuz there is no way that this team can be successful under Carlyle, or any coach for that matter simply because they are not tough enough. I don't care if you are a tough team like boston or a skilled team like the leafs, all 30 teams in the league need toughness, and the leafs have to be one of the weakest teams in the league right now.

Yeah I was never a big fan of that trade but it makes sence. We don't really have room for Aulie and Ashton has the size and potential to be a good 3rd liner one day.

What I was hoping a while ago was that the leafs wouldn't re-sign Liles and would go into the next season with the pairings of:
Gunnarsson-Phaneuf
Gardiner-Schenn
Aulie-Franson

Never mind the tank thing…that game was hard to watch period! Didn't Burke swear we'd never play that style under his watch? Bet he wished, (and Carlyle wished), he'd have hung on to Aulie. That was ugly watching Hartnell taking over. Wow….this Leaf team is in a state of disarray.

It's hard to watch your fav team play when you want them to lose..

I hope they don't bring back the redline, less goals isn't what we need in the league right now.

Also it's kind of crazy how high the salary cap will get next year, 69m or even 72m...
