Players re-entering & Rumors
Tsn.ca has reported that the Calgary Flames failed to come to terms with top prospect Jarrett Stoll before the June 1st deadline for 2000 draft picks, so he will be re-entring the draft. Stoll was captain of the silver medal-winning Canadian National junior team, as well as the Memorial Cup-winning Kootenay Ice. He was drafted in the second round, 46th overall.The Sabres failed to sign their 2000 second-round pick Gerard Dicaire, the leading scorer among defenceman on the Memorial Cup champion Kootenay Ice this season, so back in the draft he goes.
The Sun-Sentinel.com has reported that the Panthers are pretty sure they are going to keep thier 1st pick overall. GM Dudley says it would take “an enormous package” offer to convince him to part with the pick.
Spectators Trade Rumors have also reported that Stars general manager Doug Armstrong is willing to entertain the notion of dealing both of his club’s picks in this year’s entry draft. The Stars have the 13th and 20th picks overall, and Armstrong said he’d be willing to trade one or both of those picks.
