    It’s a hard decision.

The Flyers are playing their best hockey of the year as of late.

The real question is, who do they give up?

    What if Primeau comes back?

That damn salary cap will be a big factor.

I don’t think the Flyers can do anything until they figure out whats wrong with their captain. He has started skating and if tinkering with different visors to help with glare. So he could be close.

Where would Recchi fit in with this team? Would the Flyers play him with Gagne and Forsberg?

Recchi is a solid two way player, but in Pttsburg, even if you are solid, you don’t stand a chance because they don’t play team hockey.

    Possibly a 2nd, 3rd liner?

    Gagne – Frosberg – Knuble

    Kapanen – Handzus – Recchi

    Umberger – Richards – Savage

    Eager – Carter – Sim

The one move the Flyers have to make is GET RID OF BRASHEAR!!!!!! It will be impossible to move him, but it needs to be done. He stinks and doesn’t even fight anymore, what good is he?

You are right about the plus/minus.

If he’s doing his job as a winger, waiting for an outlet, while the D is pooping the bed, then it’s not really his fault.

It is the lone lowest of the team though, but yeah, perhaps the masssive workload in minutes is the answer to that.

What a mess this has become though, many of us thought that with the offseason moves, Pittsburgh would have done much better. Perhaps even stolen a playoff spot?

Calder Cup and Stanly Cup are just a little differnt there dumbass Calder Cup is bunch of boys playing and the Stanly Cup are men,so you better reconsider what you have just said cause it aint even close to being the same.

  4. neilios says:

I think the Pens can use someone like a Brashear since Crosby is always getting taking advantage of he has no1 to protect him to bad the Pens have no1 like Bertuzzi someone that sticks up for there star players and even brakes necks if he has too.LOL this is the 2 trades I see happening.

    To Philly-Recchi

    To Pens-Brashear and Umberger

another trade that I can see happing is with the Canucks.

    To Canucks-Gonchar(needs a change of scenery),Malone(same),Orpik

    To Pens-Jovo and Park

Then the Pens wont be so soft anymore with Brashear and Jovo, and the Nucks could use a little scoring help on the 3rd line and Malone could help there.

Oh I thought that they’d have a great season! They seemed custom-built for the new look NHL. But their defense is just too much of a liability. And Recchi flat out isn’t good enough anymore to be playing those kinds of minutes on a team this bad. But he would be a good component player. In case you haven’t checked it, look at that Therrien interview that lint posted. It pretty much sums up Pittsburgh’s season so far.

  6. wingerxxx says:

Those subtle Darth Vader breathing sounds he was making were pretty entertaining too. But hey, I can’t blame him.

  7. wingerxxx says:

Oh his post-game interview tonight should be priceless, from the way things are going against the Blue Jackets…

My bet is he’s gonna slit his wrists live. 😉

And you overestimate experience. Just because players are new means they are simply going to stop and say “hey, this is the NHL playoffs, we arent supposed to perform well here, so we had better just give up now.” They are still going to play like they are playing now when the playoffs role around, they arent going to just disappear because it went from april 18 to april 21.

No way theyd give Umberger for Recchi, forget about that. Hes one of the players that Hitchcok likes alot so theirs no way hes moving.

If they get him, they wont give anymore than a pick because of his age and contract.

  11. mtrakker85 says:

I wouldn’t mind seeing Brashear and a pick or a good rookie for Recchi.

  12. neilios says:

Umberger aint that great the Canucks gave him up for shit and plus the Flyers have shit loads of young talent and Umberger aint gonna be no superstar.

  13. NemiNA says:

I don’t know about the first one. You’ll have to add malkin, 2 first rounders (since its pittsburgh they’ll be top 5, thats why only 2, and maybe some cash.

THAT was good for a laugh!

  14. NemiNA says:

I just got a lot more respect for Julien! I absolutely love a coach or player that will say whats on his mind.

He did look like he was gonna cry though!

But hey, he wasn’t exactly thrown into the best, shall I say, scenario.

Trying to mix that group of players into a “team” would be a chore for anybody.

i say deal em all! Keep the young guys.

  15. PinkFloydFreak87 says:

I agree about Brashear being traded. Especially with Eager being called up because of the injuries, we’re now seeing a young guy that can take over the role of a fighter for the team.

  16. mtrakker85 says:

Has Eager gotten into more than 1 fight this year? The only fights I remember was when they called up Gratton from the Phantoms.

  17. mtrakker85 says:

    aint isn’t a word

Also umberger has been playing great on the thrid and fourth line for the flyers while putting up solid offensive numbers. He is probally putting up better numbers than the 2nd line players from the Cancuks.
