Yeah, he’s from Michigan.

I’m surprised no one mentioned a certain #13 that played for the leafs and jumped ship in the end of his career…

I also have a great deal of respect for Domi for not signing anywhere else after the stupid management bought out his contract. He claimed that some teams had interest (I dunno, could be true.. maybe) but refused to wear any other jersey. Class. Also, since they bought him out they have never seen the post season… coincidence? I think not!

Modano pulled it off because Dallas refused to sign him. Plus either Detroit was his hometown or it was in his home state I cannot remember.

It would have been cool to see Marty Brodeur and Shane Doan shake things up, but I also respect players who stay with one team throughout their career.

Favre is an example of a guy who hurt his image by changing teams late in his career. I think Mike Modano pulled it off with his year in Detroit for some reason. Marty Brodeur would’ve been like Favre, but I think Doan could have signed a 4 or 5 year deal with another club and forged out a memorable run at the end of his career in a place like Pittsburgh or something, and no one would have thought differently of him, so I’m a bit disappointed too, but I can understand him wanting to stay with the organization that drafted him.

After all that he just re ups with a dying franchise for five million per? What a nancy, I’m glad he’ll keep wasting his career so that he’ll be forgotten by all hockey fans.
