yeah, I think Stastny's contract would handcuff us though, I get the feeling Burke would need it to be something like this:

conditional 2013 2nd (if Grabo doesn't re-sign)

Komisarek's contract is pretty good for a cap floor team so he might fit in Colorado. Doubt it will happen though.

True but if we're going to trade grabovski I'd rather trade him for a replacement for himself and basically upgrade instead of pics unless it's for a top 15 pick or a very good prospect

If Grabovski + 1st was enough for Stastny it would be done already. I think we shouldn't bother going after Stastny personally, if we are going to pay for a no.1 center I would rather pay a little more for a big bodied no.1 centerman.

Agree although I would love to acquire brown. Take last night for example our team really needed a spark we could've used a guy like brown too hammer some bodies and get some momentum back with a huge hit which he does on a regular bases. Also I think the stastny is an overpayment just because of what Burke offered which was grabovski and a first.. Who would you rather have franson and Kadri or grabovski ? I would rather go Kadri gunnarson and a second and a mid prospect for stastny should getter done I would think

That post is just pathetic. You basically tell everyone else that they're stupid and wrong about what trades they would like to see or the value of certain players and then you go make some offers and when people disagree with you, you flip out at them when they we not even attacking you, they simply put in their 2 cents. If you do not want to have a debate about this then stop making posts and calling other people names for their opinions.

How would you like it if every time you made an offer or made an opinion of the value of a player we called you stupid, it would get annoying pretty damn quick wouldn't it? Who cares if people disagree with you? There are 7 billion people on this planet, a few of them will not have the same beliefs as you I guarantee.

Anyway, to comment on your deals themselves, I don't mind the Brown for Schenn thing in general but I personally would prefer to get more than Brown for Schenn. IMO you don't just flip Schenn for a player like Brown just because of all our depth on D, if we do trade Schenn then I think we should include him in a package for a big no.1 center, over a 2nd line PWF. And MacArthur is worth a lot more than Penner and some mid level prospect, if you really think we need to make a change then losing MacArthur for a rental that may not even be able to help us this year anymore is pointless.

The Stastny deal is accurate though value-wise. It doesn't work cap-wise but I'm going to ignore that part for now. Anyway, I know many of us (including me) would greatly prefer to give up less for him but that just isn't possible as I doubt Colorado would take on less. The only thing I would change is Franson, if we give up Schenn, we cannot afford to give up another big bodied defenseman. Who knows, maybe Colorado would be desperate enough to dump Stastny's contract that they would be willing to take on Komisarek's contract.

you dont think guys like gardiner, schenn, reimer, aulie, kadri, colborne, frattin, kulimen will improve next year? were a young improving team. Burke has done a fine job rebuilding this team, have cornerstones in place we just need to add one more big peice to the puzzle of the rebuilding. dont act like you wouldve done a better job and now we have to brace ourselves for another mediocre season next year. im sure burke will do something

I hate to admit it but I am more and more becoming a Sens fan as they make these deals. Picking up Turris was a bold move but you know it will work out great for them, especially at that contract. Now you go out and get probably the best prospect goalie in the league for a 2nd round pick in next year's draft, just plain awesome. Damn it Steven, stop liking the Sens….. STOP IT! Help me Leafs fans, I am being tempted by the dark side. lol.Good move though Murray… aaarrrgh.

So don't expect a glorious improvement of most of these players in their prime.

it is the market, look at what others have signed for lately. Ruutu is making close to 5M right now. I hate to say it but Grabovski is worth 5M, if the cap was 56M he would only be worth 4M but considering what everyone else is getting and considering the high cap, Grabovski getting 5M isn't terrible. I don't like it, but what can you do.

i think a fair salary for grabo would be 4.5-5mill at most.. anything more or too long of term at 5 mill i say see ya later we'll use that cap somewhere else
