Rights before Midnight!

Just in case people aren’t aware, after unloading Cujo to the Flames the Leafs dumped Domi on Nashville and the Rangers dumped Richter on Edmonton.

All these moves seem kinda like a big joke. None of these guys are going to sign with these teams. All this just to move up a little in the draft.

Talk about a lack of respect.

You can believe that Bettman is furious and most likely pulling out his hair. Can we say “abusing the system”??

I think it’s great that teams have found a loophole regarding this issue. Bettman will probably make this a major issue when it comes time to renegotiate with the NHLPA, and it will be as important as high-end salaries on his “little list” for the new agreement. GIVE ME A BREAK!!!

Domi shall sign with Nashville where he is guaranteed ice time. Domi does have some offensive skills.

This is just crazy. I almost want those deals to blow up in the dealing team’s (i.e. Toronto Maple Leafs with Curtis Joseph, New York Rangers with Mike Richter and Thereon Fleury, etc.) faces so they can learn a thing or two about trading their star players for nothing! However, I’m sure that, at some point, teams will start dealing those players for “future considerations” so they can actually get something of value in return- say Jarome Iginla from the Calgary Flames for Curtis Joseph instead of, right now, a late-round draft pick in 2004.

I do realize that, most likely, none of them will sign with those teams, but it would be funny nonetheless.
