I heard that the leafs may be close to getting Modin…that is the deal that I can accept. Bertuzzi would never work in Toronto due to cap reasons, but I would love to see Roberts back.

I doubt Roberts will waive his no trade contract unless he is traded to toronto. And giving away your future on defence for a rental…Its also unlikely.

That's exactly what I'm saying! We don't need 3 of the best centers in the league. And by the way our cap space is right at the top after taking Malakhov's contract (we don't even have one million). But a line with Marleau-Thornton-Forsberg would be absolutely insane, but again unnecessary.

I love watching the leafs squirm as well. I truly feel bad for you guys with JFJ in town. And I thought Sather was terrible…. have fun with Gary Roberts and Todd Bertuzzi going no where but Golfing in April.

yeah but the cap also only has a % left. meaning, if the cap is 44$ mil, and there is 1/4 of the season left, they have only $11million to spend. Well technically they have more, since its a day by day cap, if we were 4 million under the cap on average for the first 3/4's of the season, we can go over by 7 million during the last quarter, so the payroll can go up to 51$ million on average on ice per game.

To look at Bertuzzi of late…. I would say no! We already have Poni. He's big, good with the puck and can score! Poni is way cheaper too.So why does the Leafs need Bertuzzi??

Wasnt it reported that Bertuzzi may not even be available by the trade deadline to to set backs…. If this is true, there is no way that the Leafs can get him…

He is also the reason why fast teams torch the Flyers 5-on-5. The Penguins are a prime example of that. Even in the last game they played, where Philly hung in there (on a subpar day for the Pens), Hatcher was still -2, took a penalty that lead to a Pens goal, and was on the PK for another Pit score. The truth is that grandmothers on a walker with a broken hip are more mobile on the ice than HatcherIt’s one thing to relatively stay in front of the net during the penalty kill and clear the crease of opposing players (if they have the puck), but 5-on-5 is a completely different situation and Hatcher has proven through two years time that he is simply not fast enough for the new NHL. I guess if you’re playing the Red Wings Hatcher would be fine, but in most other situations Hatcher is just not very useful. For example, Colorado would think long and hard before they were willing to give Bertuzzi’s left testicle for him…as much as the Avs hate Tod.

And you sir would be the biggest moron if you traded Brian Lee for Gary Roberts (or any rental player at all actually- including Forsberg!)

You'd make a great Leafs GM though. Fit right in with the "Trade all our best young guys for over the hill broken down parts" philosophy.

Stop with the Lee rumors. They're the worst rumors on the board- Sens fans are embarrassed when guys like you post these ridiculous "rumours".
