kaberle isn't elite,only in the eyes of leafs fans he is! he's not a difference maker a game changer those are elite defencemen and he isn't either of those1 he's good not great!

Oh yeah, 23rd overall, and a power forward 2nd/3rd liner who is already in trouble for a cheapshot for the 2nd highest scoring defensemen since the lockout, at 4.2 million.

Take a look at Buffalo's defense. Combine that with the financial relief of dumping two guys who they dont need/like and you have yourself a fair deal.

I urge you too take logic farther than "four assets is more than one asset." look at salaries, look at team needs, and consider the value of each asset.

As per usual. Leaf haters look at proposed Kaberle trades by the number of players. Its as if I said, Kaberle for Crosby, Malkin Tangradi and a 1st.

Look at the players in the deal. Not the fact it is four assets for one. Conolly is a salary dump, he is paid way too much, and is injured way too much. He has 0 trade value, and we are doing Buffalo a favor by taking him.

Stafford is a 3rd liner. The 1st is late, and Kassian does not really have 1st line potential.

It is really Kaberle for Stafford (3rd liner), 1st (23rd overall), and Kassian (2nd liner at best) with Connolly being a salary dump, who could help the Leafs.

Name once. Just once, Burke has traded promising young players for aging players, where he wasnt absolutely necessary, or it didnt work out for his team.

Not to mention Kaberle is a player that Buffalo needs.

Kaberle is elite. think about it...... he is the leagues top scoring defenceman since the lock out and look who he has to play with. He is a setup machine.... all this after he had a very disappointing second half of the season

also dont look at the +/- too much. He was on a horrible team, period. Mike Green had one of the best +/- in the league but does that make him a defencive star?.... look how many capitals were in the top 15 in +/-, cause they could score. Leafs were not a talented team

if Burke cant get better for Kaberle...... resign him!!!!

Thats way too much for a 32year old who is free agent at the end of 2011… if you were the GM of Buffalo would you make that trade?? if so I 'm sure you'd be fired pretty quick…. sorry to break it to ya, but 32 year olds with only a year left till free agency are not that valuable…. Toronto will be lucky to get a mid first round pick plus a second line player.. Besides Burke not many GMs trade young promising players for aging players……

Connolly is essentially a salary dump. They do not want him, and are looking to trade him.

I have high hopes for a good return in a Kaberle trade, though I dont think we can get that much out of Buffalo for "JUST", Kaberle.

- I mean even if they dont want him Connolly is solid and has only one year left on contract

- Stafford, "might" have problem with Ruff, but he wont be dumped

- and then there is a top prospect Kassian/1st rounder which basically is a VERY high 2nd rounder, if u think bout it
