I wouldn’t say never. Nitz and Esche’s poor play a couple seasons ago is what prompted the trade for Marty Biron in the first place. Biron was good last year but he’s showing the same inconsistancies he showed in Buffalo.

what they need to do is let nittymaki start in goal..biron is very overated and looks lost..theyve just never given nitty a chance to play

When isn't Philly linked to a big name player who is possibily available? This is most likely Holgrem kicking the tires for sake of seeing if its a worth while endavor. He might be better served to address some depth on his blueline, so I'd be surprised with he pens Shanny to a deal.

Interesting! I think he'd be a great fit in Philly. I could definitely picture this working. Maybe they'll have to move a guy to fit him in but looks like a solid rumour.

A 1 million dollar pro-rated contract would be amasing and very worthwhile. On a side note this team has like 17 million set aside for players who are LTIR (long term injury reserve). I wonder what happens to them when they come back..

Hatcher and Rathje wont come back but Briere and Jones should and their cap hit together is 9.25 and they have only 7 million space, 6 if Shanahan signs...I wonder who the cap casualty will be? Maybe no one if they are gone long enough and the cap hit is pro-rated...
