I just heard on the news that Forsberg is just about to call it quits due to being injured again.
Sundin to Ottawa is doubtfull for many reasons but the i dont think he fits in the cap anyways.
Redden stated he would take a paycut to stay in Ottawa but it all depends on how much of a paycut.
The kings need a goalie and apparently wanted Corvo so maybe:

Great compilation of rumors! Can't wait for #5 to come out.

As for Sundin to Ottawa, could you imagine facing a team in the playoffs with Spezza-Sundin-Fisher down the middle. Yikes, that's got Stanley Cup written all over it, but I doubt it would happen.

Hmm.

Halak hasn't exactly shown that he should be a number 1. He played well last year, but not spectacular. Right now he has shown that he's a back-up who can hold the fort when the number 1 is injured. Price hasn't exactly shown he's an NHL number 1 either. I would still let Huet be the number 1 for now, let him play 40 or 50 games(he seems to tire out as the season wears on, and has never played more then 50 games in a season) And let Price and Halak split the rest (15/15 or 20/20)

Just a thought but how about:

To Ottawa:
Raffi Torres

To Edmonton:
Brian McGrattan, draft pick

Torres-Spezza-Heatley
Vermette-Fisher-Alfredsson
Robitaille-Kelly-Neil
Eaves-McAmmond-Donovan

It would deplete the Sens cap space, but Torres brings grit and some play-off experience. playing with Spezza and Heatley, he should be able to get back to his close-to-30 goal form. If not, put him on waivers, get the cap space back and try again.

I don't want to get rid of Corvo, but if it meant keeping Redden...they're almost the same age, but Redden brings more to the table. He not only brings skill, but leadership and experience. So, if Redden agreed to a major discount (nothing over 4 million) than I would trade Corvo, if he wants more than that, let him walk. But still..I think that before Redden our priorities have got to be Kelly, Vermette and Meszaros. re-sign those three, and then see if you can keep Redden. But because we have Meszaros, Corvo and Lee who are all cheaper versions of Redden, he's not essential. I guess I want to keep him more because he's been a leader and face of the franchise.

Vancouver should try and re-sign Carter. He had chemistry with the Sedins, maybe they can re-find it. I don't think it would hurt. But it could possibly shake things up.

Re the Lindros trade to Philly, it actually worked out better for the Rangers that they lost the arbitration...they would have given up Kovalev, Amonte, Weight, etc.

Goes to show, if you miss the boat, remember the Titanic.

While they are very different players, the big difference between them is that Lindros has not played at an All-Star level for a very long time. Even with all of his injury issues, Forsberg is still an extremely dangerous player. He's been better longer, and has the Stanley Cups to back up his credentials.

I'm not even sure that Lindros is a Hall of Fame player. You can make some good arguments for him, but some good arguments against him too.
