Staal to join the Rangers

According to the New York Rangers will add Marc Staal to their lineup as soon as his immigration situation is cleared up.The fact that the Rangers intend to play Staal is quite odd. Will Staal be used throughout the playoffs or is he simply here to bolster the injured blueline while those injured heal? Could they possibly consider playing Staal n the playoffs? I would imagine this is simply temporary, but this could turn out to be interesting.

Talk amongst yourselves…

I can’t believe that this is a long term move, this close to the playoffs. Barring injury, the Rangers top 6 on defense is pretty much set. You have Malik, Roszival, Tyutin, Poti, Kasparaitis and Ozolinsh. I think that Staal is coming up because of the injury issues on the blueline right now. I think that Sather believes that Staal will do better with the big club than Liffiton.

Renney said hed have no problem playing Staal come playoffs, if he seems to be in out top 6 dmen. Hopefully he takes Poti’s spot for the playoffs.

The way Ozilinsh is playing I’d almost rather have Poti…

This is great for both the Rangers and Marc Staal. The Rangers get help on the blueline, and Staal will get some much needed NHL game/playoff experience that will help him in his rookie campaign next year……….Great move by the Rangers.

There is a good chance Staal will play in the playoffs with hartford. The Rangers also signed former first round pick Lauri Korpikoski, they also agreed to terms with Greg Moore and Dane Byers.

Interesting to see if any of these guys will play with the big club.
