Raycroft is no 1st string goaltender but u gotta give him credit . Leafs should have traded Pogge instead of Rask and that is what screwed up leafs goaltending future . Raycroft is one of the worst goalies to play the game , only goalie i can think of thats worse is Ty Conklin or Patrick Lalime. Leafs need to re-negotiate a new 2-way contract with him and send him to the minors and take up Scott Clemmensen because Clemmensen is 10 times the goalie Raycroft is .

we have a decent enough back-up in Clemmensen, but ya Raycroft isnt going anywhere in 2 years

raycroft being traded does nothing to solve the broader woes of this team - both in management and on the ice. period.

the market for goalies has been dry for about 6 months now - there is no market for an inconsistent goalie who makes $2 million. that has been my stance for a very long time now.

although he is not solely to blame for the leafs woes last year, no GM is going to want him unless the leafs take on a bad contract in the other direction in the context of a larger trade (i.e. Tampa Bay with Denis as part of a larger trade).

Simple, they call up Clemmenson.

Maple Leafs
Vesa Toskala (starter)
Scott Clemmenson (backup)

Marlies
Andrew Raycroft (split)
Justin Pogge (split)

They wouldnt call up Pogge because he wouldnt get much playing time and it would be in front of a bad team which isnt good for a young developping goalie.

The Leafs spent the summer trying to trade him. If Bryzgalov couldn't be traded, then no one will trade for Raycorft. That being said, Raycorft is an asset in his limited role with the Leafs.

we should lend him to some european club cause we arent getting squat for him. and then bring up clemmensen who is a sold back up

I agree with you that he should be put on waivers, but after you call up a goalie who do the leafs have down in the farm as their 3rd goalie? I'm not really sure without looking it up.

TODAY it's common knowledge that nobody wants Raycroft.

But when I said this was the case way, way, way back in July, check out the reaction of some of the people on this site (see links). Many wouldn't buy it.

Thats COMMON KNOWLEDGE, everyone knows that... EXCEPT you cannot trade a player NOBODY WANTS let alone for a couple draft picks.

Kid next time you write an article put some thought into it and make sure it is more then two sentences.
