IMO, the best pure goal scorer to ever play. I loved his game and even more that he never once cried about having to retire early because of back problems suffered from cross checks, just accepted it as part of the game!! It is hard to believe in his draft year that teams passed on him 14 times, lol.

Did anyone else realize how dman good Mike Bossy was? He had one season under 91 points, and one season under 51 goals. ONE! And it was his last season at that. And he was still over a PPG.

Two 90 point seasons, seven 100 point seasons, five 60 goal seasons. Probably one of the most statistically impressive careers in league history. And he's got the shitty luck to have Gretzky putting up 200 point seasons during then, and getting overshadowed.

Apparently Burke and Wilson are still friends...

Still Nonis is clearly putting his own spin on things. This is merely him making a spot for Frattin and getting a pretty good return on a guy they acquired for a pittance.

4th or a 3rd if the Oilers make the playoffs? That's pretty damn nice for a 4th liner.

Sad to see Brown go, but let's be honest, once that moustache was gone, he just wasn't cutting it anymore (that's a joke...).

It may be all a coincidence but....

Towards the end of last season, with injuries and the like, the A's on the team were Komisarek and at times Kessel had an A. Grabovski also wore the A.

Lupul and MacArthur were given the full time A's this year and McClement has had it with Lupul out.

The team brought in McClement and he effectively replaced Joey Crabb, an American on the roster. In the lineup itself, McClement has taken for the most part, Steckel's 4th line role. He too is an American.

McLaren was brought in on waivers and it seems he won the job over Brown, an American who was just traded to Edmonton.

Due to injuries, Gardiner has been placed with the Marlies to get his game back. But, with the play of Fraser, Holzer and Kostka, he has had a tough time getting back to the main team. I personally think its a blessing in disguise.

Speaking of the D, there are two guys in the press box making 8+ mil. Komisarek and Liles, two Americans.

Speaking of the Marlies, Tim Connolly was demoted prior to the season. He's another American.

For a team that had zero Ontario borns last year for the full season, they now have 4. They recently started a lineup of All-Canadians with Kadri, MacArthur, Orr, Fraser and Franson with Scrivens in goal.

While they did add JVR, we've seen now Crabb, Brown, Connolly dumped. Liles and Komi sat, and Gardiner can't get back into the lineup. Lombardi gone too.

I think the main idea behind the many Americans was that Leafs disease perception. At least that was mostly Wilson's feelings.

Burke made some mistakes, but clearly, not getting a different coach in there will be his Toronto legacy. Their relationship apparently soured for a bit. Understandable. I believe Gretzky and Mike Barnett, his long time agent didn't speak for years after Gretz had to fire him in Phx.
