TSN.ca …The Stupid Network?

You know, it just amazes me. These people get paid to do this and millions of hockey fans get to read it. Why?

I’ve never seen such a retarded goalie ranking as this one.http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?ID=4757

Everyone, Danny Cloutier is 9th best in the NHL surpassing Khabibulin. Now I am seriously laughing!

Agreed! I couldn’t believe these rankings!!! I had to go all the way to #30 to find Loungo. What is up with that? Pathetic.

As the comic guy from the Simpsons would say it, “Worst rankings ever!”

  2. Aves21 says:

Why did they put Brent Johnson and Coulthier higher than Sean Burke and Khabibulin? That is messed up!!

  3. DTierney86 says:

ya, im a huge canucks fan and love cloutier, but even ill say that cloutier doesnt belong higher than Knabby or Burke, not to take anything away from him, hes great and (hopefully) will get alot better, but rite now hes not 9th……wat i dont get is why Roberto Luongo is so low…i mean 27th? hes higher than that for sure…Laime and Turek are really low……they person who must have thought must have been like Mike Keenen….

I agree that these rankings are out of whack, for the most part. On the site though someone made a good observation. These are fantasy rankings, not actually ranking of the goalies.

That fact should help explain some of the rankings, like Luongo at 27. That fact aside though, the rankings are still strange.

  6. r_milley says:

    Its for FANTASY hockey teams.

Who will get more wins Vancouver or Tampa Bay?

USUALLY in a fantasy league a goalie gets more point for WINS then SV %.

  7. Rushing says:

At least some people caught it. LOL

    FANTASY!!!!! 🙂

  8. mikster says:

Ok, who did better last season….Burke or Cloutier? Who did better last season….Coyotes or Canucks? Would you have Giguere and the Ducks over the Lalime and the Sens?

    Ok, i rest my case.

  9. GreatWhiteNorth says:

Fanntasy league rankings. Who will get more wins. It’s also reated to team rankings. Who will get the most wins. Take that into account and the rankings make more sense.

  10. DaAvs says:

This is moronic rating system. Even if you go by the team rankings and factoring in then Montreal will be 4th in the league? Carolina and Irbe are 21st? You’re either doing goalie rankings or fantasy goalie rankings on who will produce points. Thedore could do 4th, but to say Lalime is going to get 19th? Or Burke will drop because Boucher is there? The system has no rhyme or reason…it’s not by goals against. Not by any percentage. Just some guy saying “You know Cloutier is better then Burke this season”. There’s not a single rhyme or reason. Come on TSN, sorry to be critical. But take more then 5 minutes to put out an article.

  11. freshprince says:

    Gigure should have been higher

  12. burky says:

    WHAT!? cloutier isnt no. 1!?

  13. devilfan says:

Turco is going to be a good goalie but he hasnt been the starter for a whole season and he is already 14. Thats way too high.

Brodeur racks up the Wins and his GAA is pretty good, but all they seem to care about is SPct, that doesnt make much sense either.

  14. tgray says:

You guys completely jumped the gun on these rankings. Since these rankings are for FANTASY purposes the ratings of goaltenders who will have the benefit of a solid defensive corp. in front of them got higher ratings. Thus, while Sean Burke, Khabuliun, Loungo are behind Nabokov, in skill, these goaltenders do not have the San Jose defense playing in front of them. I think the writer did a noble job of handicaping these goaltenders with these factors included, at least for the trivial, banal purposes of fantasy.

  15. Leaf_Expert says:

    I KNOW!!!!!!

CAN YOU BELIEVE THEY DIDN’T RANK BELFOUR#1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. edmontonrules says:

No offence but when I checked for Luongo he was not located in the #30 position.

  17. mikster says:

Who has the better defense and wins. Burke or Giguere? Burke or Cloutier?

  18. sexwax says:

arent we talking about this year? i think id take the opinion of a paid journalist who gets paid to do research.

    i rest on your face

  19. Aetherial says:

I can’t believe the stupidity of the original poster who does not seem to understand the intent of the article.

  20. NJD4Life says:

fantasy league you morons, if it were based on the best of the best Brodeur would be on top no doubt. Khabibulin like 20 wins, Cloutier like 33, GAA, SV% relatively close, but most league don’t give a shit about GAA and SV% just wins.

  21. mikster says:

Ok, take the opinion of a journalist who thinks the Canucks and Cloutier will be much better than Burke and the Coyotes.

  22. DTierney86 says:

canucks and cloutier WILL be better than burke and phoenix

  23. Rushing says:

He may have there mikster. LOL

  24. sexwax says:

to add to this. boucher will probably eat some of burkes playing time therefore taking away some of burkes wins. i dont think “skidra” will see a whole lot of playing time. at least i hope not. im not too high on him. too streaky.

  25. HockeyRules says:

Ok people…the guy who posted this and the people who agreed with him dont know hockey. Cloutier was 2nd in the league last year in shutouts only behind Patrick Roy. And Khabibulin plays for the Lightning…this FANTASY pool was to help people in their hockey pools. Vancouver is going to get ALOT more wins than Tampa. In hockey pools, goalies either get points by Wins or Shutouts, Cloutier will have more wins and have more shutouts.
