living in montreal, i hear the politics all the time, language police, heritage police, its a joke, most people know that, its the hardcore seperatist that are the culprits. heck we even have stop signs that say 'arret' instead of stop, you go to europe and the signs still say stop!!!!!!!! even people that travell here are like english is one of the international languages, and everything is in french. they already got most of the english people out in the late 70's and 80's, oh well, at least most of our prime ministers are from la belle province.

11 even strength goals from a first line wing who is -11, for a team that choked their way from fourth place to the golf course.

we're talking about 2 even strength goals in march, one in february and none in the back half of january. that disastrous performance took montreal from home ice advantage in the playoffs all the way to the golf course. how many first line wings played worse than Higgins over that stretch?

a huge thing workin agains the habs when signing free agents is the actual quebec govt. When Rivet was traded to San Jose, Pierre Mcguire said that Rivet told him that his pay check was 25% more playin in California. Now, i'm not a brain surgeon, but if u have a 4 mil per year contract, and u play in monreal, your gonna lose 750 000-1 000 000. Thats a large chunk of money no matter how much u make.

Well forget Vinny for that deal. He won't come to Mtl unless we throw Higgins, Komisarek or Price in our package (along with Halak, prospect & picks). I personnally don't want to see any of those 3 leave, even for Lecav.

Agreed, Higgins should be just about untouchable. We dont need to make major changes yet, just give our guys a chance to develop. the one change id like to see is trade Dandenault for whatever will be offered and then replace him and Souray with Schneider and Preissing or a more physical guy if the price is right. by dumping Dandenault and not signing Souray youre saving about $8M and spending only 6 or so on the guys i mentioned.

Have'nt we learned so less yet ?

Yashin could be a dominant player but they did'nt buy him out for no reason.
We have enough of those talented underachievers.
I think we should think first about team chemestry and that's a reason why I would like Souray to come back.
Kovalev is a team chemestry destroyer. So is Yashin. We don't kneed this.
I hope Gainey learned from his previous mistakes.
