I love his shot from the point but if you even out all the shity goals he let up he isn’t that great of a player. I agree that we should give Ribeiro another year, he’s a young player that would be a sin to give away, although if we got a good deal for him I wouldn’t lose sleep over it.

While I am going to agree that both Zednik or Ribero are offensively capable, they did not produce (hopefully the off-season will do them some good).

Looking at the UFAs and seeing what is still avaliable, there are only a couple large players left the could even be considered for what we need. Players like Eric Daze, Eric Lindros, and Bill Guerin remain, but these power forwards all come with considerable risk. I don’t see Gainey willing to take a chance on these players, unless he knows something we don’t, and we can’t reach into the minors since Guillaume Latendresse isn’t ready for the NHL.
I agree that Bob Gainey is a smart GM, but I (like many) had been hoping Arnott would be added. I guess we’ll see what happens in the coming weeks. In Gainey we trust……
