to be honest I don't see Columbus wanting Havlat at all. Maybe if any 2 of Pavelski, Clowe, Couture, & Niemi are traded along with a top prospect and the 2012 1st round pick then I can see Columbus taking it.

Something like:

Pavelski / Couture / Clowe
Niemi
Galiardi
17th overall pick
2013 2nd round pick

for:

Nash
Boll
late round pick

I don't see Columbus trading Mason at all to be honest, his value is nothing at best and they gain nothing at all by trading him... let him try to work his way back to NHL caliber.

Including Mason and Boll in this deal makes it highway robbery for the Sharks. Boll is a great 3rd or 4th line guy, and Mason could easily split time with Neimi and be great. The Sharks would have to give up another top prospect if both those guys were coming with Nash I think.

The Sharks need a big boost, and their core is aging. The window to win is closing fast. A bold move for Rick Nash could be their final shot at a cup.

What about this:

To Columbus:
Martin Havlatt
Thomas Greiss
TJ Galiardi
2012 1st
2013 1st

To San Jose:
Rick Nash

The Sharks move some salary in Havlatt, but the guy can still play and he would bring back something tangible for the Jacket's to use right away. Galiardi is a decent 24 year old winger, he's a 3rd liner for sure, but a big guy and I think his best hockey is coming up in the next couple years. And Greiss has been pretty good in the little bit of time he has played in the NHL. None of the pieces are amazing, but 2 firsts gives them something to help stock the cupboards.

For the Sharks, ya, they might as well give up 2 firsts and a younger goalie in a deal for Nash, because, once again the window to win will close soon. Thornton is now 33, Marleau is as well, Boyle is 36, these core guys will probably not be enough to carry the team 3 years from now, but with Nash they will have a good shot for the next couple years.
