Will Flyers Try to Land Price This Summer?
CSNPhilly.com
Currently there are only two teams in the NHL that have the same starting goaltender today as they did at the beginning of the season 10 years ago, one obvious and one not so. The obvious one is the Devils, where Martin Brodeur has started for what has seemed like forever. The other… the Philadelphia Flyers and Brian Boucher.
Chuck Gormley of Versus.com has set that as the starting point for his analysis of the Flyers’ goalie woes. Since Boucher’s spectacular rookie year, the list of Flyers’ starters reads like a full lineup: Roman Cechmanek, Jeff Hackett, Robert Esche, Antero Niittymaki, Martin Biron, Ray Emery and Michael Leighton. All have at one time been the team’s established “starter.”
However, Gormley points to hope on the horizon. If Boucher is unable to carry the team, “…the Flyers will be back to the drawing board this summer, possibly looking to land a goalie they bounced from the playoffs two springs ago.”
“Would Carey Price look good in a Flyers uniform? Or would he be the next masked man cursed to play in a city desperate for some brotherly love?”

To play in the NHL, every player should pass a fighting exam.
There should be fighting training for every player. A license to fight.
The league needs more fighting and safe fighting.
Price + Hamrlik for Carter
more likely that Philly tries to move either Briere or Gagne.
If Montreal trades him I'd sooner see him go to a Western conferance team. Having said that I'd be kinda surprised if they trade him in the off season.
I agree I don't see the habs trading him, but that is just me
How happy are you Habs fans with the way the Latendresse/Pouliot trade worked out? Its working out pretty good for both teams so far.
Since the Olympic Break, Pouliot, Gomez and Gionta have been on fire. The Cammaleri injury was almost a blessing in disguise. It allowed the above line to step up and just been golden. When Cammaleri returns and if you can get Pleks resigned, you have 2 very solid scoring lines (although the Cammy, Pleks line would need another winger). Maybe add Frolov in the offseason (or another winger trough a trade using Price/Halak) and your right on your way to having a good one two punch on offense.
You are crazy.
Halak for Carter and a 2nd rounder. I bet Philly wishes they took Halak straight up Carter this offseason when it was offered because it will cost them more now.
Price is not going anywhere! Halak will be the one that is traded!
if they trade Halak and keep Price then that would be the Stupiest trade EVER!!!!!
Why would you trade Halak when he's been MUCH better than Price? That's just foolish.
Halak is better- and the team plays with more confidence in front of him.
no it wouldn't it would be the biggest mistake to give up on a 22yr old price! we aren't the laffs that make mistakes like this and then don't win for over fourty + years
