Kaberle looking at options??

With many of Tomas Kaberle’s former teamates eigther mulling retirement or sporting another jersey, Tomas has quietly been looking at his options. He has been looking over other team’s rosters and seeing where he could potentially fit on a contender’s team. It has been said Tomas has even inquiring about certain cities and coaches as he is considering possibly waiving his no-trade clause since the Leafs are going threw a rebuilding process.

It’s a bit early to start mentioning anybody (other then Detroit, and San Jose) legit cup contenders, especially the Canucks, but they’ve played some fine hockey this season.

Right now there 2 points out of 2nd place in the West, there top 5 in the league in goals against, AND for too. We haven’t lost in regulation in our last 10 games either.

Note: Very long read! I’ve been working on it for a week or so, just writing a bit each day for a week or so, just in case you guys are wondering why I have so much free time to do this ahaha

Max Afinogenov to Colorado?

The Buffalo News reports that the Colorado Avalanche are interested in Buffalo winger Maxim Afinogenov.

It is then speculated that Forward Marek Svatos could be headed in the opposite direction, although they also say that the Avs may want to deal him for a goaltender (i.e. Halak, Khabibulin, Huet)

Svatos for Afinogenov straight up? Maybe. Look for Tyler Arnason to be involved as well. The Sabres could use a center and Arnason is on the outs with Avs fans.

Sporetsnet.ca is reporting that Burke has agreed to a 6 year deal worth 18 million dollars.

Luke Richardson put on Waivers by Sens

Luke Richardson has been placed on waivers today. It seems with Richardson put on waivers, the Sens may start making room for Mats Sundin to possibly come to Ottawa.

The Toronto Sun is reporting that the Leafs are trying to make contact with Sundin about a possible return to the Leafs this season when the Leafs travel to LA n the near future.

Is it just me!!!

Is it just me, or does Kovalev seem much slower this season? I’ve watched him get caught from behind too much this season, including yesterday in Detroit! Moves he made last year aren’t working now. I don’t know if he is just in a funk, pouting, or what! Maybe it would have been better to trade him in the off season, even with his talent.

Joe Cutroni provides an inside look at who’s hot and who’s not around the Western Conference to give you the edge you need in your fantasy hockey league.

After the first quarter of the season, there has been a few surprises in regards to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

For a team devoid of any top 6 forwards apparently, the Leafs are among the best offensive teams in the NHL. They are in the top 10 in terms of goals a game and top 5 on the powerplay. Matt Stajan, who was benched earlier this year, leads the team in points and has been a surprise as the team’s top centre.

Alot of trade rumours floating around at the 1/4 mark of the season. I recap on some and add a few of my own.

Ottawa gets
Turco
Daley

Dallas gets
Spezza

The Toronto Maple Leafs have traded Alex Steen and Carlo Coliacovo for Lee Stempniak.
