I do not understand what Plakanec is doing, I hope he is not actually expecting a raise this year!

  2. DJTOKid says:

Of course hes going to get a raise you dumb ass. He has scored 20 goals plus for three straight years. Start looking up guys who have scored 20+ goals three straight seasons and see what they get paid.

He is going to get $2.5-$3.5million per season. write it down.

What is going on with these guys?????

    Lehtonen (ATL)
    Barker (CHI)
    Kessel (BOS)
    Johnsoin (LA)
    Upshall (PHX)
    Harding (MIN)
    Schremp (EDM)
    Brule (EDM)

These are all good young talents that could really help out the Toronto Maple Leafs. I really like the idea of going after Harding if the leafs don't get the Monster from Sweden. I would also like to see a deal with the Kings to get Johnson for Kaberle. I've been hearing that the Kings may shop the young defensemen and being American might make him more appealing to Burke.

Something off topic here, the Rangers today signed a guy named Chris Chappell.

    Anyone ever hear of him?

  5. Komic-J says:

Plekanec should get between $2.3m and $2.7m, which is the market price for a player like him right now in the NHL. His numbers are pretty similar to Mikael Samuelsson, who got $2.5m in Vancouver.

  6. Komic-J says:

    Did a little research since I didn't know him…

    Chris Chappell
    Left Winger – 6'4 – 212 – From Pickering, Ontario
    Played with Saginaw Spirit (OHL)

    05-06: 60 GP – 08 G – 12 A – 20 PTS – 53 PIM
    06-07: 66 GP – 10 G – 14 A – 24 PTS – 47 PIM
    07-08: 54 GP – 14 G – 20 A – 34 PTS – 55 PIM
    08-09: 68 GP – 38 G – 38 A – 76 PTS – 88 PIM

Here's what OHLProspects Blog had to say about him in an article entitled "Top-10 Overagers Worth Signing to an NHL Contract" in which he was ranked first…

Named as one of the West's most underrated and improved players, this Saginaw Spirit forward and captain has come a long way this season. At 6'4, 210, Chappell is a load to handle for opposing defenseman, as he uses his strength to outmuscle defenders for the puck. At his size, Chappell is also actually an excellent skater who loves to take the puck hard to the net and whose overall offensive ability has taken huge steps forward. Chappell has definitely been the most impressive overage player I've seen this season, and I'd be very surprised if a big man with the talent he has, does not get an NHL contract this offseason.

    Then, another article about the Saginas Spirit;

Another guy who really impressed me. He had a hell of a game. Chappell is their captain and a guy who's looking like a serious breakout candidate. Career high before this game was 14 goals (last season). He's already got 9. He's a big monster, listed at 6'4, 212. But he can skate. Blew through the Ice Dogs defense for one of his two goals on the night. Had other scoring opportunities as well. Looks to be a big strong guy with good skill. Not sure how he managed to put up so few points before this season. Definitely a guy to watch.

Sounds like a good signing as an un-drafted prospect…but you probably won't hear a lot of him for a few years.

  7. beckfan05 says:

    Sounds promising, thanks!

  8. Rico420 says:

I agree that he will likely land between 2.5 and 3 a season – you have to remember the guy is only one season removed from a near 70 point campaign – and with the right linemates will probably be there again.

  9. habswinthecup-again says:

You know, it is f*ck heads like you that make the world suck!

If you watched any Habs games last year you know that Plekanec sucked, so stick to your own team boy and leave ours alone!

  10. HABSSTAR says:

I wonder if he get's nervous that Bob will show up at the arbitration meeting with a copy of his famous "I'm playing like a little girl out there" statement.  That alone would probably cost him somwhere around 500k/ year in salary! lol

  11. DJTOKid says:

Hey habswinthecup you can call all the names you want but it won't change the fact that i'm right and you are wrong. You stick to YOUR ONE TEAM and I will continue to be able to break down the entire league. I'll find you when Plekanecs signs so I can say I told you so.

  12. DJTOKid says:

I was right 2.75mil. I hope yall wrote it down.
