Montreal Canadien Deceptions

Hi All,

After my post on the Habs top 5 revelations so far this year, here is a list of the 5 players that have been underachieving so far this season.

Tough Month Ahead For Habs Who's the Dead Wieght So far?

With 13 wins under their belt Montreal is looking like they will most likely make the playoffs. Also I don’t think Montreal is getting the respect they deserve considering they were predicted to finish close to last in the east. December will be a big test for Montreal, it will pretty much give them an idea where they will finish at the end of the season and probably decide who is the dead wieght on the team…

Habs need a heavyweight

After watching the game against the Isles on Wednesday, it became clear to me that the Habs are in desperate need of a heavyweight fighter. It’s fine that Komisarek drops the gloves from time to time, but when he has to start going toe to toe with the likes of Chris Simon and Brendan Witt, well that’s another story. Not that I don’t think that he can hold his own with them, but if the Isles loose one of those guys to injury it’s no big lose, if the Habs loose Komi to injury, well I don’t even want to think of that. Tom Kostopulos is more of a middle weight, he can’t take on heavyweights. If the Habs do get a fighter he doesn’t have to play every game, and I’m sure that the skill guys would play with much more confidence knowing they have some muscle if need be. It seems that every team in the east beside Montreal has a “tough guy”

Montreal Canadiens Revelations

Hi All,

The first quarter of the season flew by and it’s time to analyze the Habs great start to the 2007-2008 season. In my opinion, the are 5 revelations so far this season.

Jeff Carter available?

I heard on french TV show 110%(which hasn’t much credibility, but what the heck…),last night, that Flyers’ center Jeff Carter is available and Flyers are shopping him around. If someone hears anything about that rumor, please let me know.Personally,if Carter is available indeed,I hope Bob Gainey will do whatever it takes to acquire him.

Who's Next?

The Larry Robinson jersey retirement night has come and gone and as Bob Gainey’s approaches in February, one must wonder who’s the next former Montreal Canadien to get their jersey number retired and hang the Bell Center rafters.

Gainey You Need To Start Negotiating Now

First of all, I have been saying all along that now is not the time for major changes in Montreal, it is time for some minor tweaks though. The maojor changes I would make now is to sign some key players before the July 1st deadline in 08, and start working on some UFA’s for 09.

Are the Habs for real?

I have been coming to this site on a daily basis for the last 6 months or so and I finally decided to post an article. this is my first one so please be easy on me.

After about 20% of the season played already, the Habs have been playing some pretty amazing hockey for a team that many were predicting them to finish 13th in the East and I started to wonder, are the teams taking them seriously or should they? Lets look at a few stats.

Brad Richards to be Habs

I just heard on Les amateurs de sports by Michel Bergeron (ex-rangers and nordiques head-coach)and Michel Villeneuve that Canadians and the Lightning has been talking trade. But none yet. For Tampa Bay : Michael Ryder, Jaroslav Halak and S. Kostystin (Andrei’s little brother at Hamilton). For Montreal: Brad Richards and André Roy.

Halak and the supposed Montreal/SanJose talks.

Rumors have it that Jaroslav Halak has threatened to leave Hamilton and play in Russia if Montreal does not trade him. I can see Halak fitting in on the San Jose roster just fine, but what would we get in return?

Two Words: SCRATCH LATENDRESSE

The Habs have started off pretty well and are playing better than anyone expected. Yet still, there is always room for improvement and they have a few problems to fix.

Surprising star – balanced power play

The Habs are not at the bottom of the conference like most professional analysts predicted. They are doing quite well in fact. Mainly because of the Power Play.

MTL needs a big man who can score

This is hard to say but I think the Leafs may have something the Habs want…
