A NOTE TO MR. GAINEY: SELL!!!!

In light of the Montreal Canadiens complete collapse, Bob Gainey should be a seller and not a buyer, come trade deadline day. Let’s face it. The Habs are not Stanley Cup contenders. They are not conference finalist material. They are, if they make the playoffs at all, the same as last year. Maybe win a round and if all the stars are aligned, maybe win 2 rounds but thhhaaattt’s all, folks!! With 6 impending UFA’s (Souray, Markov, Rivet, Bonk, Johnson, Abeischer) and several other players the team would likely move (Perezhogin, Ryder, Samsonov) if the right deal was on the table, Gainey is holding the cards that could set up the Canadiens organization for the next 10 years.

Samsonov to Edmonton?

Not a chance! Local Edmonton newspaper states Kevin Lowe says he wants nothing to do with Sergei Samsonov. Maybe the Habs should try and talk with the Blue Jackets if they intend on keeping Samsonov and Kovalev. Certainly something needs to be done here. Go Habs Go!

Doan Coming to Montreal????

According to hockeybuzz.com Montreal is the leader in the Doan sweepstakes. Calgary is also pushing for Doan but Montreal has much more to offer. Hopefully Gainey gets off his ass and doesnt let this one slip away.

when will the balance in bad officiating begin

Before i begin i would like to state that i’ve never been one to complain about officiating till now cause i’m sure like most habs fans, enough is enough. where do i start? Did last night’s blatent attempt to injure look familiar? rewind to last years playoffs when koivu’s career was nearly ended while the ref was 10 feet away and no call was made.

Should the habs consider trading huet?

With the way the goaltending has been in the recent month or so, i’m starting to think if maybe gainey should kick some tires and see if there is any interest in huet. Abby has been much better of late and huet would fetch much more in return considering he still has another year in his contract. Abby has made it known that he wants to stay in montreal but as a starter, he is also 3 years younger and with halak, danis and price on the way, it won’t be long before there is a changing of the guard. So i would at least check for interest while he still has value

Horcoff to Montreal????

The Edmonton Sun Reports:

AROUND THE BOARDS: The latest rumor out of Montreal is RW Sergei Samsonov and Rivet will be sent to Edmonton for C Shawn Horcoff.

Fake Fans

Ok relax already first of all Montreal Canaidians have a great team and im fed up of everyone saying that they need a #2 centre nooo we need offense it doesnt matter if he’s a centre pleckanec could do the job he has the tools.. we need size like a Bertuzzi sure a centre would be great but even if we keep our team it would be a great team…

Rumors

The montreal Canadiens have been heavily scouting the Flyers games over the last couple weeks what intially was thought to be for Peter Forseberg but rumor has it that the Habs have their eye on Sami Kapanen.

Also the Sabres, Leafs and Islanders are thought to be going after Kevyn Adams.

Potential Goaltending Controversy?

Now that Mr. Aebischer is stepping up and starting more often than Cristobal, who will be our playoff goaltender?

Canadiens Contemplating Moves??

The Montreal Canadies are 6-8-1 in their last 15 Games and the warning bells appear to be ringing. According to various reports, Canadiens GM Bob Gainey’s telephone bill is on the rise and he is believed to be working on a trade or two in hopes of waking his team up.

Bertuzzi a possibility?

Just read some of Ecklunds rumours and hes saying the Habs are a possibility for Bertuzzi. Personally i’d rather them go after Shane Doan or why not try and sign Jason Allison. He had almost a point per game last year. I’m hoping Gainey does something soon because there are too many under-achievers and almost as many over-achievers.

Habs show heart

If you Habs fans watched the game the other night you probably witnessed what I did, a team that was put at a disadvantage by a terrible call by a veteran referree Don Koharski, when Armstrong dropped his gloves, punched Sheldon Souray twice, and then after being pummeled, got away without even a minor penalty, while Souray ended up kicked out of the game and left his team shorthanded for much of the second period. The Habs who cannot comment on the refereeing for fear of being fined or suffering the wrath of the referees on the following games cannot say anything, I however, can say whatever I want!.

Habs have to shake things up !!!

Where has all the heart gone from this team? One of the best leaders in all the N.H.L. Saku Koivu has done little of late, Michael Ryder less than nothing he’s actually been a detriment to this team, Francis bouillion once the hardest working, hardest hitting player on this team and rewarded for it with a nice contract no longer hits or plays with any heart should be back in Hamilton the way he’s been playing, Sergei Samsonov well there’s nothing here I can say that hasn’t been said already, Chris Higgins where are you?

Peter Forsberg to Montreal?

The Team 990 in Montreal is citing a “reliable source” from the Dallas airport that Montreal are the front-runners in the Peter Forsberg sweepstakes, followed by Detroit, Anaheim, San Jose and Colorado. Reportedly, Montreal is offering an unnamed mid-level player and a 1st round draft pick.

Oppurtunity for the Habs

L.A. Kings down 2 goalies, Montreal Canadiens probably the team with the most depth in goal…. A huge oppurtunity for the habs?

Habs need a shake-up

After that embarassing loss against the Sens on saturday, Montreal needs to shake something up. It seems that alot of players aren’t playing with much heart. Give Samsonov one more chance and put him on a line with Koivu and Latendresse. If that doesn’t work after 2-3 games I say put him on waivers and hope someone picks him and his contract up. Try Bonk with Kovalev and Ryder. Dandenault seems to be in a daze. Rivet is giving the puck up too much and Bouillon isin’t playing physical anymore. Somethings gotta give.

Habs in desperate need of GOALS !!!!

Ok so we have one of the best powerplays and one of the best penalty killing, but 5 on 5 we SUCK. Gainey can’t wait no longer he has to make a move. Samsonov is a big bust, he works hard but nothing to show for it. Ryder, a proven 30 goal scorer isin’t playing well. Plekanec is a hard worker but he’s no 2nd line center.
We have alot of assets we can move. Too many players that all do the same thing. Plekanec, Samsonov, Perezoghin, Kostisyn, Grabovski. That’s 5 players who do the same thing, and they are all very small.
I like are defence, but we won’t be able to sign are 3 ufa’s. Everyone says that they think we should move Souray, but I think we should move Rivet. He makes to much money for what he gives. There are plenty of teams out there that are looking for a solid stay at home D-man.

Gainey is back!

www.habsinsideout.com and www.TSN.ca both confirmed that Gainey is back as General Manager and Vice President. As we all know Gainey took most of December off after the passing of his daughter.

CBC Biased Against Montreal Canadens?

This is an online petition condeming the CBC for there lack of Montreal Canadiens games. Montreal only has 17 games that will be shown on the CBC this year, with 4 or 5 of them against Toronto, a few others against the western teams, and the rest only regional viewers from quebec have the right to watch.

Time to move the deadbeats

After watching every Habs game so far this year, I know Guy can not be happy with his line up and hopefully is asking Bob to change it. Watching Samsonov do nothing game after game after game is pissing me off and hopefully Guy also. Two teams that I think we could swing deals with are St.Louis and Vancouver. With Legace out and Tkachuk probably walking at the end of the season offer Samsonov, Aebischer, Murray and maybe throw in a guy like J. Gleed for Tkachuk and J. Mayers.
