I truly believed (hoped) that Price would step up and gradually become the number 1 goalie as the season progressed. Maybe it was just over excitement based on his ’06/’07 perfromance, however it has become apparent that although a potential superstar, the kid needs more time to develop, mature and gain valaubale pro experience.
This is along the lines of Koivu: Fallen Leader http://www.hockeytraderumors.com/
According to RDS (durign tonight’s game against Atlanta) and to CKAC Sports radio, the Habs and Flames are talking and the rumor is sending Ryder to the Flames for Alex Tanguay…
This article is to clarified the position of Gainey heading trough to the trade deadline.
By that i mean what kind of cap space will be available in the next two years so we can trade, prior to this year’s trade deadline, for a no.1 center with a long term contract. And the short term cap space will be directly affect by those 3 players new contract.
While watching the Flames and Wild game Wednesday night on TSN, Pierre Gauthier was shown on screen. Pierre McGuire stated that the two teams were talking trade and that something interesting could be done soon, or at leats before the deadline. No names were mentioned…
I don’t think Kovalev’s name will come back in rumors this year… Ryder is the obvious candidate. I think at least one d-man could go, and extra guys like Bégin.
Ill actually be nice. sorry guys only move were making this year is Ryder and just maybe maybe Huet this would be a great year to trade huet, hes doing decent and is going to the all-star game. get a key player for him maybe. but to be honest there is no one that attractive to grab this year. not for the prices anyways. and yes i know… price isn’t ready… thats why this is a wishlist.
Bob Gainey had a meeting with the media today to discuss the teams season so far. There are positives and negatives like usual but he spoke very frank and sent a message to the players.
Bob Gainey says:
“If the players here can’t solve it, I’ll look at adding or replacing a player here with one who can win….”
Just like the leafs, it has been well speculated that the habs should try to get rid of their captain. But with his NTC, where would koivu could possibly accept to go ?? This is pure speculations based on nothing but logic, but it would make great sense to me that only 2 teams could be where koivu would like to pursue his career. Those 2 teams are the wild and sharks. Obviously, these are 2 good teams and possibly contenders but i guess that koivu would waive his claude only to go find his pal Rivet or his brother Miko. Would these teams have something good to offer in return ?? sure they would.
I have started to become an Eklund fan. Although he blows more hot air than my heater, he is entertaining. I have started reading his blog on a regular basis. However, every once in a while, Eklund really PISSES ME OFF. In his latest article, he is exploiting the possibility that Ovechkin might sign in Montreal, seeing that his contract negotiations (he received one offer, I’d hardly call that negotiations) are falling through with Washington.
If anyone has been watching the Canadiens play lately you have to admit that they are looking good. Last season Kovalev was invisible on most nights, This season it looks as if he grabbed the team by the throat.
If anyone watched the game against the Rangers you know what I’m talking about…
